What inspired you to become a designer?
My mother said from the age of 3 I was feeling fabric and putting things together. My father was an engineer and mother was very artsy, She could paint beautifully, make pottery, sew and quilt, anything you could make with your hands. I married the two and became an interior designer.
What's your favorite part of the design process?
The end result, when you stand back and see the art you have created with your design.
Where do you find design inspiration?
Anywhere and everywhere, magazines, books, web, nature, I ask myself sometimes, what else could this be....
What do you wish every client knew before starting a project?
A good design takes time, trust the process, it's not a one time event. Trust the designer and having open communication is crucial of wants and needs and also being realistic about a budget.
What was your favorite project you've ever worked on?
Probably my children and grandchildrens rooms..
If you weren't an interior designer, what would you do for your job?
I was an elementary teacher first, but I really wanted to do design. I am now doing what I always wanted to do. If I went back to do anything else now, would probably be in architecture or landscape design.
